A 6’ long, 2’ 6” wide handmade piece of history, almost unchanged for centuries. ( In fact, apart from the ‘Bow’ being round not square or forked, it is unchanged in centuries.)
The head, which is about 2’ 6” wide, is made from Ash, as is the ‘Bow’ and shaft and although the shaft is about 6’ long, the whole hay rake weighs less 4 lb.
The Rake's teeth are from seasoned Birch, really, really tough ( they knew a few things about Rakes in them old days !) A hand made wooden rake to treasure - but a rake that expects to be used !
